| Tiktok is now the most visited website in 2021 |
The kingdom does not last forever. Somehow change comes. TickTock is now the most popular online platform in the world, surpassing platforms like Google.
According to security agency Cloudflare, the viral video app made in China is more hit than search giant Google.
In February, March, and June of this year, TickTock removed Google from the number one position in the rankings. In July, Google returned to the top for a short time, but since August, the ticket has been at number one, according to the BBC.
Last year Google was the first. Then there was some more site in the top ten including Tiktok, Facebook, Amazon, Apple, Microsoft, and Netflix. Cloudflare tracks data using its web traffic monitoring tool, Cloudflare Radar.
According to Sensor Tower, a more popular data analysis firm, Tiktok has been downloaded more than 3 billion times since July this year.
The video network, owned by the Chinese ByteDance company, now has more than 1 billion active users worldwide and continues to grow.
Due to the censorship policy in China, ByteDance uses a different app called Dowin as an alternative to Tiktok.
Chinese authorities have left a clear mark on users of Dowin(2016) under the age of 14 - the app can not be used for more than 40 minutes a day.
After the merger with Musically, another Chinese social media platform, in 2018, the app allows users to lip-sync songs. This was followed by a wave of such video sharing in the international arena.
With the tide of popularity, the social media platform seems to be dragging a tsunami of controversy. The following year, in 2019, a temporary ban was imposed on Tiktok in India.
Politicians and regulators in various countries have raised concerns about security and privacy with this Tiktok, one of the few successful Chinese apps in the international market.
The app can host short videos. It usually raises issues like comedy, dance, and politics.
Food and recipe videos are having a big impact on the success of Tiktok. Such viral clips get millions of views.
Following this success, a new catering service called Tiktok Kitchen will be launched in the United States in March. The food shown in the viral video can be ordered.
The most viral foods in the app will find a place in the menu and it will have items like baked feta pasta. Baked Feta Pasta is the most searched dish on Google in 2021.
